Bali is the most famous place in Indonesia, but our country has another 13.667 islands and Bangka is one of the best.
I visited the beautiful and virgin Parai and Matras Beach.

Thank you for sharing these rare photographs of the isle of Bangka. It certainly will provide lots of happy encounters of sights for somebody I know very well and was born on this island, left it in his early youth carrying with him a stamp of this spot of the earth that can never be wiped away. Since that moment there has never been a happy return to this beloved place.

thanks Felix..I have a dream that the world will be able to know Indonesia more than just the Bali or Jakarta only.
By the way, next year will be a perfect time to visit us here because of the 'Visit Indonesia Year 2008 campaign'..
don't worry about the bad news or issues..don't believe every word they say on the media, sometimes they highlighted the bad and omitted the good thing..
Indonesia is still far beyond your expectation.. ;-)

yes, more secluded and a lot of nature, different than the crowded tourist spot in Bali, more like Lombok or Bunaken in Manado (North Celebes)..
visit us someday! ;-)

Yes, with my simple pocket digital camera.. =)
maybe it would be prettier if we took the pictures by using the professional cameras and shot by professional cameramen though.. ^_^

They are beautiful --- both the pics and the beach. I am Filipino and the word Bangka means Boat in our language. I have been to Jakarta and Manado and I like your country because your people's hospitality make me feel right at home.

I live in Jakarta and have been to Manado once..would love to visit my mum hometown again someday.. ;-)
My parents have been to the Philliphines and they were impressed too ^_^
